Hukommelses-mystik!?



Min veltjente pc havde brug for lidt mere RAM (ift. 2 * 128 MB!), så jeg
købte 3 * 256 MB klodser via Den blå avis (ældre pc (anno 2000) - vil
(helst) ikke ofre for meget derpå!).
De modtagne blokke var ikke ens, de to var 'Kingston', den tredje var 'Made
in Korea' - kaldes fra nu af 'koreaneren'!

Efter modtagelsen isatte jeg de nye enheder og startede pc'en, som flux
flashede '768 MB' på skærmen - men så skete der desværre heller ikke
mere! :)
Jeg fjernede 'koreaneren' og startede igen, med samme resultat (bortset fra
denne gang '512 MB' på skærmem).
Så fjernede jeg den ene Kingston - og nu bootede maskinen OK.
Jeg genmonterede 'koreaneren' - 512 MB på skærmen - og boot OK!

Jeg antog nu, at den ikke-monterede Kingston ('#2') måtte være defekt og
kontaktede sælgeren, som spurgte, om 'den defekte' kunne fungere 'solo',
hvilket jeg prøvede - med positivt resultat!

Summa summarum:
'Kingston #1' virker sammen med 'koreaneren'
'Kingston #2' virker hverken sammen med 'koreaneren' eller med 'Kingston #1'
- men OK 'solo'.

Kan nogen med mere indsigt i hardware give en (slags) forklaring??

Bundkortet er et ASUS A7V-133 med tre RAM-sokler - max. kapacitet 3 * 512
MB.
Processoren er en 800 Mhz. AMD Athlon (i386).
