Ja, f.eks. Samba (til fildeling med Windows-computere) synes jeg er en pest 
at sætte op via editering af .conf filen. Et godt kompromis mellem hastighed 
og brugervenlighed er at droppe det grafiske GUI, og så installere Webmin 
(http://webmin.com/) sammen med en webserver (Apache). Så går konfigurering 
af fileshares som en leg (næsten :)

Mht. distribution, så kig evt. på Debian i stedet for Ubuntu. Så slipper du 
for at skrive 'sudo' hele tiden...
