Hvad pokker skal vi med UTF-8, hvis kodningen i
virkeligheden er fast-længde?  Variabel-længde kodninger er
en fejltagelse der komplicerer programmerne.

Før skrev du at vi bliver nødt til at bruge UTF-8 for at
Unix kan fungere.  Nu skriver du at Unix allerede er klar
til at køre med fast-længde kodninger.  Hvilken af delene er
virkeligheden?  Er det nok at justere definitionen af »char«
i GCC til at være på 32 bit og oversætte kernen for at køre
med en 32 bit fast-længde tegnkodning?  Eller er det ikke?
