W32codecs - lovligt eller ej?



Det har længe været diskuteret om dr.dk opfordrer til lovovertrædelser når
de henviser Linuxbrugere til at installere w32codecs. 

Morten Juhl Johansen har mailet MS Danmark mht. licensen på w32codecs.
Nedenstående er sakset fra http://mjj.slacking.dk/

Om man vil betragte det som et endegyldigt, juridisk bindende svar vil jeg
lade være op til den enkelte - men det kan i hvert fald nok være belejligt
at henvise til.

Licenseret gratis
Jeg henvendte mig til Microsofts Salgssupport og fik en lidt forunderlig
e-mail tilbage. Det er, som om det ikke anerkendes, at freeware kan være
underlagt licens, og det skulle jeg netop mene, at netop MS skulle være
klar på...

Er Microsoft indforstået med dette, og er det lovligt at anvende pågældende
Microsoft-codecs uden at have købt en licens til f.eks. Microsoft Windows?
