Tjekke om der er adgang til X (fra crontab)



Jeg har nogle programmer jeg gerne vil køre fra min "crontab" i stedet for at de kun bliver kørt når jeg logger ind i X eller kalder dem eksplicit.

Problemet er at de har brug for adgang til X. Og hvis de ikke har adgang til X skal de lægge nogle opgaver i kø. Derfor har jeg brug for en måde til at tjekke om programmerne har adgang til at bruge en bestemt skærm (i praksis altid »localhost:0.0«).

Hvordan kan jeg gør det uden at forstyrre brugeren? Jeg har overvejet at lade prøven være et forsøg på at ændre baggrundsbilledet, men jeg vil foretrække en mere usynlig løsning. Nogle forslag?
